The story combines intersecting stories, culminating at and collapsing upon Aaron's House.  First, and foremost, there is the mystery around the surrounding city, Verde Hills, and the house itself.  Mysterious and sometimes lethal, Aaron's House is a place visited by few, but known about by many.  Local legends say the house and the surrounding are are cursed, originally erected by a member of the Donner Party, and built on a foundation in direct violation of God and the natural world.

There's Marty Lipton, deranged serial killer and child molester.  Severely burned as retribution by seven-year-old Aaron Wiley, Lipton latter killed himself in a prison hospital in 1999.  A wake of bodies and blood were left behind.  And, still, his legend grows, haunting the locals of Verde Hills, some who insist he survived and continues to kill today.

Then there's Special Agent Donaldson, assigned to put to rest the rumors of Lipton's reemergence.  But is he ready for the terror unfolding before him?

And of course, there's Aaron Wiley.  As a child, He burned down his own house in an attempt to kill Marty Lipton, who abused and molested him.  Lipton, severely burned, had only just begun.  Wiley became a recluse, staying away from his home, until he returned in the late '90s, after his mother's death.  Shortly before Marty Lipton was captured, Wiley went missing, believed to be another victim in the serial killings.

Now, the killings have started again.  Is it a new killer?  Marty Lipton?  Aaron Wiley?

Somehow, Aaron Wiley is forever tied to the land of Verde Hills, bound by the curse of his ancestors.  Bound to the house.  Is he alive?  Dead?  The truth is unknown, only adding to the mystery of Aaron's House.
